Lazy Calm

As the title tells you, this is very dreamy, and the vocals start late in the song. If I close my eyes listening to this there is a feeling of being very light, as in water or on the moon.

Fluffy Tufts 3.05 Like waking up and watching ice crystals on the bedroom window. * * *
Throughout the Dark Months of April and May 3.05 The most obvious song on this album, with a clear melody. I love the feeling of a dialogue, when the shimmering voice meets with the more concrete. * * * *
Whales Tails 3.20 Cool. * * * *
Oomingmak 2.43 see the box set EP * * *
It almost sounds like Elizabeth Fraser is rattling off rhymes, and that is a nice contrast to the airy sounds.
Little Spacey 3.26 I love it, it has a verse/refrain feel that gives balance with a very subtle intensification towards the refrain which makes the song equally beautiful all over. * * * *
Feet-like Fins 3.26 see Otherness * * *
This song contains a lot of different elements which makes it difficult to grasp. It feels like a few songs mixed together.
How to Bring a Blush to the Snow 3.51 In the same mood as the other songs. Beautiful like crispy snow. * * *
The Thinner the Air 3.15 It feels sad, Fraser's voice sounds so longing. A perfect farewell from Victorialand. * * *
By the looks of my ratings you might think I am not that fond of Victorialand. I am. I think that because the songs do not fight with each other for attention, but simply blend into a whole, it is a divine album, but with no stand out tracks. The all over feeling of the album and the titles in particular are arctic like crispy white snow. e-mail me Back To Atlas
