More

If you are still not satisfied and want more Cocteau Twins related and/or sounding music, there are a few record labels to check out.

Robin Guthrie's and Simon Raymonde's very own record label. This is where to find Raymonde's soloproject, Blame Someone Else, and Nanaco, a Japanese singer who's album was produced by Raymonde, Yu-Ra, produced by Robin Guthrie, Sing Sing, something for Lush lovers... And more. Read about the Cocteau Twins studio, September sounds too.

The classic independent label, home of the Cocteau Twins up to Heaven or Las Vegas. Every band here sounds unique, so: not a place to find CT likes but a lot of brilliant bands and artists all the same. 4AD_logo.gif (1471 bytes)
A small label specialising in beautiful music. The compilation album Splashed With Many a Speck features the last CT-song Touch Upon Touch. Try Orange too, a truly original and great band. dewdrops-logo.gif (13618 bytes)
They have a series called Heavenly voices, which is compilation albums featuring gorgeous female vocalists. I have only got the latest one, number 5, but it is truly a good way of finding new CT and DCD like bands. From what the site tells me, they also have a new-classical selection, some interesting techno variations and gothic bands. hyperiumlogo.gif (3062 bytes)
My favourites, Bedazzled records have bands that sound lovely and Cocteaulike, especially the bands Siddal and An April March. Halou is also a brilliant band if you like dancy beats and heavenly vocals. bedazzled_logo.gif (3721 bytes)
Projekt is a label I have not tried much of, but I have two albums with Love Spirals Downwards, and they are quite blissful. Try Area, Black Tape For A Blue Girl and  Loveliescrushing.

I am not quite sure if Nettwerk belongs in this group, as they are quite commercial (Home of Sarah McLachlan and Barenaked Ladies). But I should mention Rose Chronicles, featuring gorgeous vocalist Kristy Thirsk. They did melodic, kind of gothic rock sounding music before they split. Single Gun Theory is a band that might appeal to some. They do commercial sounding ethereal music with slightly pretentious lyrics. And there is Delerium, sounding like a synthesised Dead Can Dance with singers from above mentioned bands plus Sarah McLachlan. The most popular band on Nettwerk, for Cocteau Twins fans would be Bel Canto. Very catchy melodies, heavenly vocals and plenty of synthesisers. If you find the site prices a bit high, you can probably find all Nettwerk albums in a local store . nettwerk-logo.gif (15656 bytes)
This is all beautiful and well worth the effort and money. Nothing can quite compare to Cocteau Twins though, after all, they created the genre. But if you have all CT albums and would like to explore more of the ethereal (and gothic) scene, these are nice places to start. If you have any more suggestions, I would be happy to include them on this page. e-mail me Back To Atlas
