FF=paternal grandfather, FM=paternal grandmother, MF=maternal grandfather, MM=maternal grandmother, FB=father's brother, MB=mother's brother, FS=father's sister, etc. For women, I have always used their maiden names, when it has been known. For men who have changed their last names, I have put their original last name in parenthesis after their final name.
Some stuff was hard to translate since it is very old Swedish. Some is improvised and perhaps not completely accurate. All translations are in quotations-marks. If you find any comments that I have forgotten to translate, please let me know. Naturally, a lot of the stuff in here is far from certain information. Corrections and updates are always appreciated.
The family trees are almost always too small to be viewed in the frame window. An alternative is to "right click" them to save them to your hard drive, or bring them up in a window of their own. Mac-user just press and hold the mouse button for the same procedure.
There is a known relation to the O'Brien family in the USA, and that family is therefore mentioned on several places in this summary. That relation became known thanks to the journalist Anders Ljungberg who has written two interesting articles about family research on the net. Both articles are in Swedish, but can be found here and here. To the best of my ability, I have made translations to English, but since the copyright belongs to Sydsvenska Dagbladet, I will try to assure their permission before posting them here. If you can't wait, write me and I'll mail them to you.
