Kurtis Blow - The Breaks (374 K)
This is a brilliant tune. The above sample is from the intro, the well-known
"Clap your hands everybody/if you got what it
takes" which KRS-ONE borrowed for 'MC's Act Like They Don't Now'. I've also
got a piece from the first verse (183 K)
and a drum/bass loop (187 K).
Boogie Down Productions - South Bronx (107 K)
KRS-ONE again. This a familiar sound. This part (108 K) is from the chorus.
Just Ice - Latoya (408 K)
This is a nice one. I got a request for this, and the next week I found it on a record fair.
Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight (370 K)
The second rap single ever, rapped over the riff (not sampled though) from Chic's 'Good Times'. The sample is the first phrase of the rap. The 12" version of this song is about 15 minutes long...
The 45 King- The 900 Number (196 K)
You might recognize this from 'Let Me Clear My Throat'. This is where it came from, but The 45 King sampled it from 'Unwind Yourself' by Marva Whitney. Unfortunately I don't have that one.
(Thanks to Da Hitman for the loop. Saved me some work.)
The 45 King produced a song ('Stan') on the second Eminem album, with a nice little beat. That album is pretty good by the way.
