Subject: Re: UniBearcat BC-760XLT Squelch Repair and Modification

 
 To decrease the hysteresis in the UBC 760xlt,
 you can replace R58, a 22,000 surface mount resistor, with 
 a 1 megohm resistor.
 One side of R58 connects to pin 14 of  IC2,  the  same  3359
 chip used in the Uniden 800xlt.  
 The other side of R58 connects to both the wiper of the 
 squelch pot (VR551) and VR1, the board-mountsquelch 
 limit adjustment pot.
