Heavenly music compo 3

News: We've received a lot of questions concerning next year's compo. Will there be one, and if so, when? Our answer to the question is: we don't know. Next summer, we are going to put all our efforts into our own wedding, which is to take place in mid-August. This means the usual dates for the compo are out of the question. We've discussed having a Christmas compo, or such, but haven't reached a decision yet. If you would like to be informed if/when the compo will be held, please send an e-mail to lovebirds@mail.bip.net, Subject: HMC2001?, and we'll get back to you as soon as we know.

Folks!!
The moment you've all been anxiously waiting for - is finally here! We hope the wait hasn't been all too nerve wrecking, and that you're still as eager to find out what our final verdict is. This year's contributions have all in all had a much higher standard in terms of quality and originality, compared to the two previous HMC's. Although we were not entirely uniform, regarding ranking, and overall winner, the competition has been tough, and we've had to consider placements carefully. Don't be afraid to download songs from the lower sections of the results board. There are some truly intriguing compositions there as well!! 40 entries managed to make it in time for the deadline. Not as many as the last two years. But hey, it's the quality that counts - not the quantity. Keep in mind. If your song is one of the few, we didn't find all that appealing, that doesn't necessarily mean our opinion is the only truth. We're all entitled to our own viewpoint, and isn't that what a competition like HMC is all about: exchanging views?

Congratulations to.... ALL OF YOU!!
Anders & Lisa
Vesa, our guest judge

Note from Anders and Lisa:
We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the two people who helped make HMC3 reality. Vesa Warder Norilo, for his time and effort put into reviewing and constructive criticism of the compo structure. Henrik Opinash Jensen, for his wonderful help in creating a useful database for submission handling/editing, and for the use of his webspace. Things just wouldn't have worked this smoothly without the two of you!

Our goal

What our intentions with this compo are, is to try and increase the interest in beautiful, soulsoothing music. Picture yourself in a beautiful garden, in the summertime. Birds chirping, trees swaying in the wind.

It's music expressing those type of emotions that we are most likely to bring forward in this compo. We will be accepting various styles, just as long as they are not violent, too fast and/or brutal. There will be no awards except honor itself, and of course, the possibility for you to get yourself a name on the mod scene. Though, you should always strive not to sound modish. See your tracker software as a means of expressing your innermost emotions, and not just a bunch of blip-blop. If you find this description of what music is, appealing, you are most likely to enjoy competing in our Heavenly music compo.

So who are we?

Beside being music lovers, we are both involved in the art of composing. It has been a part of Anders creative lifestyle, ever since he was a little boy; composing soft and comforting music with his small home studio of synthesizers and other little machines that can come in handy. Lisa on the other hand has only just recently begun to explore the world of composing. Her main field is writing, and singing. She has also learnt to master the piano, and reads/plays music scores fluently. Together, we have been composing ever since the day we found each other. And the results can be found at XM-HEAVEN module-music site. Some of Lisa's writing is also available if you go to Lisa's home of inner thoughts
