The Swedish Sighthound Club (SSC) was formed the 7:th of November 1950.SSC is asociated to the Swedish Cennel Club that is the official Swedish spokesman with in FCI. The Swedish Sighthound Club is an national-organisation with 6 bransches placed all over Sweden.Sence the beginning the SCC has arranged sighthound-dogshows and trackracing in Sweden.

But in the middle of the 1970:s there was a divelopment of new organisation called SHCF(The Swedish Dogracing Federation) that tock over the tracks and the dogracing in Sweden. SHCF rearanged the hole ide so the owners of Saluki,Afghan and Borzoi no longer could compete with there hounds.SHCF also beginned to work for moneyprices in the dogracingsport. And now there´s only one of the SSC:s bransches that still has a racetrack.

However! The SSC has since the beginning of 1997 a lure coursingproject that is going to get the Swedish sighthounds in moation again!
