WELCOME My name is Birgitta Nilsson and I work as an
assistant librarian/records manager. I'm also a freelance journalist and my
favourite topic is my own local area history and interesting personalities of
the past. My hobbies are genealogy and local history research. My roots are
mainly on "Söderslätt" (southern plain)
and Västergötland.
My interest for local history has resulted in some books about Borgeby, eg. "Borgeby från forntid till nutid" (Borgeby from prehistoric to modern times). I've also
created registers that are
of interest to genealogistis, such as marriages in Borgeby and Flädie. My book
about the history of Laxman's Åkarp
was published in November, 1997. If you understand Swedish, there's a chapter

publication Tornabygden. During 1999 I followed and photographed the building
of the debated buildingarea Högsäter in Bjärred. I now research Fosterchildren
in Borgeby, Fjelie, Flädie and Lomma in the 19th
century. I want to follow the children through life to see what happened to
them. A first article was published in "Skånegenalogen"
1999:2 and I took part in "Kulturveckan"
in Bjärred in april 2000
with a poster. The book was published in February 2010. |
