The plot

This film is, belive it or not, based on a true story. Jean Claude van Damme plays Frank Dux, a martial arts trained marine who enters the Kumite to honour his master. The Kumite is an Asian full contact tournament where all the greatest fighters of the world is invited. But his superior officer doesn't allow him to go so he goes AWOL, which results in that the MP are sent out to catch him before he can take any part in the tournament. One thing that makes this film extra is that the real Frank Dux is helping Van Damme with all the fight scenes.
