Starcraft review

The plot

Once upon a time there was a highly developed race called the Xel'Naga. They travelled space searching for the most suitable race for there experiments of evolution. First they found the protoss, a highly religous people living on the djungle planet of Auir. The Xel'Naga helped the Protoss to evolve into a hightech culture very dependent on their religious belives on purity. But after a while the Protoss turned against the Xel'Naga who left Auir to search after a new race to preform their experiments on. After a journey of thousands of lightyears they found a lava planet called Zerus where the inhabitants were a insect-race called the Zerg. The experiment succeded beyond the Xel'Nagas imagination, the primitive Zerg developed an ability to infest the bodies of other lifeform and thereby change their bio-structure. To prevent that the failiure with the Protoss would happen again they made it so that all the Zerg had one mutual sense called the overmind. The overminds primary objective was to develop their race as far as possible and to do so they had to leave Zerus and search for new worlds to infest. After a while the Zerg found the Xel'Naga and although they tried to stop them they didn't stand a chance and that was the end of their entire race. After consuming the Xel'Naga the overmind found out about the Protoss and saw them as a threat against their goal of perfection. On their way to face the Protoss they met a fairly young race known as the Terrans. When the Zerg started to infest the Terran colonies a large Protoss fleet emerged from the dark space and started to bombard the human colonies trying to ridd the planets from the Zerg. It is now you take over the command of the Terran forces and thereafter the Zerg and at last the Protoss.

My opinion

I have always thought very highly of Blizzards products (well maybe not Warcraft) and after playing this game my mind haven't changed. This game has it all, a well-written story, cool units, nice graphics, good music, nice cutscenes and the most important excellent gameplay. The main reason why Blizzard succeds in making the best real-time strategy games on the market is the units. Instead of making quantity they make quality. Each race are very different from the other but they are well-balanced so the challange stays throughout the whole game. The missions are well-made and have different objectives which never makes the game boring.
I give it 5 skulls of 5 possible.

Boner.
