Quake II review

The plot

You are a spacemarine fighting in the war against the Stroggs, an alien race that mainly are cyborgs and mutants. This mission, which by the way is your first, is an attack on the aliens own home-planet. The main objective is to destroy the big gun which is making the spaceships lives misirable by blasting everything larger than a shuttle out of the sky (space). To get past the big gun you and your fellow marines travell to the surface in small escape-pods. Unfourtunatly your pod gets clipped by another one and gets thrown out of course. So when you awake you find yourself crashlanded in an alien building all alone with only a blaster to defend your sorry ass with.

My opinion

I must admit that I never really liked the first game, it was ok but it lacked atmospere and the feeling of that the game takes place in a real (maybe a bit alien) world. But this game really took me with storm. The graphics are beautiful (with a capital B) and the creatures moves very smothly. The detail on the enemies are a thing you have to see to belive. The sound is great, especially the music which really rocks! Thw weapons are avsome and well animated. There are 18 enemies and a few bosses wich gives you a nice variety of things to kill. The levels are mission-based and a mission can range through a large number of levels. The atmosphere is out of this world and the gameplay is wonderful. This is one of the best games I've ever played.
I give it 5+ skulls of 5 possible.

Boner.
